SOVA has been appointed as the Collaborating Partner Organization [CPO] by the State Institute for Rural Development and Panchayatiraj [SIRD & PR], Govt. of Odisha to build capacities of the PRI members [Ward Members] of Sadar Block of Dhenkanal District. The program is currently under progress at the ‘Training Campus’ of SOVA Headquarters. Total target audience count 370 Ward Members from 30 GPs across the block. Divided into batches, each batch contains 40-41 trainees and is to span over more than one month; commencing from 27th October 2022.
SOVA as well shall cover other blocks as may be deemed fit by the SIRD & PR, Govt. of Odisha, in forthcoming time.
The Health and Wellness Center [H&WC], Srimula has received the celebrated National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) Certification from the Ministry of Health & family Welfare, Govt. of India for the year 2022-23; on 26th September 2022. NQAS is awarded to health service providing institutions which maintain a national level quality on service delivery.
The H&WC [erstwhile PHC (N)] has been managed by SOVA since 2010; under Public Private Partnership [PPP] mode.
The aforesaid institution, Health and Wellness Center [H&WC], Srimula was a recipient of the KAYAKALPA Award for last 3 consecutive years; 1st one as a Consolation Accolade, and for last two years as ‘Champion’. KAYAKALPA is awarded on the bases of hygienic conditions maintained in the campus.
The ‘CHILDLINE’, which was operating from the Old Blood Bank campus in the heart of the town, has been shifted to the Headquarters building of SOVA at Kasipada, owing to the peril of Corona Virus. At present it is operating from 1st floor of the Headquarters building of SOVA.
SAKHI [One Stop Center] now is operating from its own building, located within the Campus of the District Headquarters Hospital, Dhenkanal [near the mortuary]. The 2-storied building was dedicated to SAKHI by the Collector & District Magistrate, Dhenkanal on 24th December 2021, in presence of other dignitaries.
SOVA has been assigned to conduct Mega Health Camps by M/s Nava Ltd. [a corporate located at Meramundali, Dhenkanal]. The intervention shall have 4 [four] camps at a go, at different places; tentatively scheduled to be on 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st of December 2022. The Rotary Club of Rajdhani, Bhubaneswar and Swiss Heidi Foundation, Dhenkanal Project Office shall collaborate with the events.
SOVA has completed almost all the paraphernalia with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to set up its long cherished Community Radio Station [CRS] at Kasipada [Headquarters of SOVA]. It has acquired the GOPA. The CRS shall operate from the headquarters edifice of SOVA. The broadcast shall cover a radius of 10 KMs from the tower. It presumes to reach approximately 1.5 Lakhs of people over cell phones and Frequency Modulated [FM] radios.
